Consensus govt. need of Hour: Leaders

 

Kathmandu, June 27: Leaders of big three political parties have pointed out the need of consensus government.At a programme organized in the capital on Wednesday, leader of the UCPN-Maoist and Education Minister Dina Nath Sharma said the standing committee meeting of the party had already decided to quit the government and if the opposition parties commit to the identity-based federalism, Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai would not stick to power.He told the opposition parties to forge alternative to present government.

Similarly, Nepali Congress leader Dr Minendra Rijal accused Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai of dissolving constituent assembly and sticking to power with ill intention. This government has no rights to hold CA election, he argued.

Leader Rijal said the army integration could be expedited as per the political consensus.On the occasion, CPN-UML leader Bhim Rawal accused the Prime Minister of not calling the meeting of army integration special committee for long and leaving country without people’s representatives. He argued that a national consensus government should be formed as per article 43 of the interim constitution and remove the present difficulty in line with article 158 of the interim constitution.Present government is tyrannical, he said, stressing the need to dissolve this and form a national consensus government.
