Kathmandu, June 27: Proprietors of the industries that were taken to privatization have made complaints with the government that it has forgotten the due responsibilities to such industries.The government has pushed aside its burden to private sector and now forgets its responsibilities towards them, said the entrepreneurs concerned at aprogramme organized by Privatization Department of the Ministry of Finance here on Wednesday.Nepal has adopted the concept of privatization in 1990. The concept was emerged in the world in 1970.The government has started privatizing the sick industries since 1992 and had privatized around 30 government industries by 2008. Some of the industries have already been closed and some others are in the verge of collapse, said the entrepreneurs concerned. Also speaking at the programme, Finance Secretary Krishnahari Banskota said the government was serious towards the promotion of the privatized industries.During the programme, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI), Suraj Baidya assured that the Federation would take initiatives to study the problems of the privatized companies and urged the government to ensure investment- friendly environment.Chief of the Department, Basudev Sharma, said the government has adopted the policy of moving the privatization ahead in public- private partnership concept.Industrialist Diwakar Golchha complained that the government has not provided any facilities to the privatized industries but has just pushed its burden aside in the name of privatization.
